2009 was greeted with an international Kadampa welcome in over 37 countries where students of NKT Centres joined together to make auspicious prayers for world peace. New Year is the time of new beginnings; the time to start afresh and do things that would make someone else happy. Developing wisdom and compassion, and cherishing others, is the true meaning of life. If we apply this ancient Buddhist wisdom in our daily lives and make a pledge to make at least one person happy each day in 2009, we will immediately see the difference it can make to our own and others lives.
In 2009 we will have the opportunity to receive clear instructions on the paths of wisdom and compassion from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso at the 2009 NKT International Festivals.
